I have worked in the field of culture, employee engagement and employee experience for 25 years and passionately believe in the effect that a positive employee experience can have on the success of organisations.

I have a huge amount of experience right across HR related research and consulting in many sectors and subject areas, having held senior leadership and consultant roles at Harris Interactive, Korn Ferry, Engage Group and Karian and Box. I work primarily at C-Suite and Senior Management Team levels, helping organisations to develop their employee engagement and experience initiatives in a range of organisations from major blue-chip companies to family owned businesses, across both the public and private sectors. Critically, I help organisations to identify, understand and improve the underlying drivers of employee engagement. I strongly believe that organisations and brands can be more successful if all their people, understand and believe in what they do and feel emotionally connected to their role and the organisation as a whole. This creates a consistent, positive culture where people thrive which means that people want to stay with organisations because they believe in the culture.

Based on cutting edge employee insight, I introduce innovative reporting and action planning processes to take organisations forward. I understand how to listen to the voice of employees and other stakeholders, presenting what I hear in an accessible way, using this to gain buy-in to strategies for making change happen.

The work I do helps organisations to unlock the full potential of their employees, which in turn has a direct impact on both the bottom line and the return on investment that the organisation achieves. I have a passion for researching peoples behaviours and motivations and for transforming organisations into more effective and inspiring places to work.

James is an expert in creating and running bespoke learning and development solutions and programmes and has helped many businesses take their performance to the next level.

An NLP-qualified neuroscientist and ex-Group Head of Employee Engagement & Resourcing at First Group plc, James focuses on 'The Why' of work - and how organisations can truly connect and deeply engage with everyone in their organisation, for better performance and the good of all. James leads on our training programmes and is lead training facilitator for Culturecog.
